About Us

Perfect Gay Honeymoons was launched shortly after the introduction of the Civil Partnership Act in December 2005, offering a high standard of civil partnership abroad and honeymoon services to gay and lesbian couples. Initially the company offered same-sex couples the opportunity to book luxury honeymoons and to ensure they receive all the frills a honeymoon couple deserve on their special trip away. The company has since introduced its civil partnerships and commitment ceremonies abroad programme with an ever-expanding portfolio of locations.

In 2006, in conjunction with its partner 'Perfect Weddings & Honeymoons', it was awarded the accolade of Midlands Weekly Media Small Business of the Year. In 2007 the company gained recognition for the first time in the UK Travel Industry by having two nominations in the TTG Awards 'Specialist Agent' and 'Young Agent' categories. Then in 2008 as the company has begun to grow, it went on to win 'Most Innovative Agency' at the Midland Travel Trade Ball, and was a finalist in the 'Customer Service Award 2008' for the Midlands.

In Autumn 2008 Directors Danny Waine and Helen Doyle won the 'TTG Big Idea'; a Dragons Den-style competition, securing a £100,000 private investment from four of the UK's most successful travel entrepreneurs. This has enabled the company to expand its agency side of the business Perfect Gay Honeymoons, as well as to launch in 2009, 'Perfect Weddings Abroad', the UK's first weddings & civil partnerships abroad specialist operator. Since then and for three successive years, the company has been finalists in the ‘Best Weddings Abroad and Honeymoons Operator’ category at the British Travel Awards - 2009, 2010 and 2011.

The company prides itself on high levels of service, innovation and benefits from the diversity, creativity and experience that its team brings. Couples and guests from across the UK book via the company's website, call centre or selected wedding fairs and exhibitions across the UK.
